Christopher Carter, Ph.D.

Christopher is an Assistant Professor of Theology at the University of San Diego whose work explores how religion and the institution of factory farming affect food choices within the African American community. He is a United Methodist pastor and holds a seat on the steering committee for the prestigious Animals and Religion Group of the American Academy of Religion. As a Farm Forward Faith in Food Fellow, Rev. Dr. Carter is studying the impact that the U.S. food policies and practices that created the factory farm have on people of color.
